Ryan joined the firm in August of 2021 as an associate. His practice covers civil litigation, water law, property law, land use, and real estate matters. He began his career as a Judicial Clerk in Montana 13th Judicial District. While there, Ryan experienced everything from complex litigation to contested probates to homicides.

Ryan earned his J.D. at Vermont Law School, where he graduated with honors. During Law School, Ryan was an Articles Editor for the Vermont Law Review, Teaching Assistant for Legislation & Regulation, and Legal Writing Fellow. Ryan interned with a mid-sized Washington, D.C. firm, where he focused on transferring environmental liabilities in commercial real estate transactions and Brownfield reclamation. Ryan also interned with the U.S. Department of the Interior, where he focused on various water, public land, tribal, and wildlife issues.
After spending many summers of his youth in the Rocky Mountains, Ryan felt more connected to the communities out West than his original New York suburbia hometown. He enjoys utilizing our vibrant public lands—whether on foot, skis, or wheels—and engaging with the local community.
