Overview
Blake is an associate attorney who joined the firm in August of 2022. He practices water law, real property law, land use law, and local government law. He began his legal career as a Court Judicial Assistant in Aspen before attending the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor with an advanced certification in Environmental and Natural Resource Law. After graduating, he returned to the Roaring Fork Valley to serve as the law clerk for the 9th Judicial District, where he mainly assisted Colorado’s Division 5 Water Court.

During law school, Blake worked in the Student Law Office’s Environmental division. There, he served as counsel on a matter in the US District Court of Colorado concerning a water firming project on the Colorado River. He also appeared before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals for oral argument regarding a water reallocation project. During his law school summers, Blake interned with the Pitkin County Attorney’s Office and the Pitkin County District Court. He also received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Butler University.
Although Blake grew up in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, he visited family in Colorado every year, where he realized his connection to the Rocky Mountains. Following his dreams, Blake moved here in 2015. During his free time, he enjoys hiking, skiing, and climbing, as well as playing, watching, and coaching soccer.
